About 2017FordEscape.com
Hi, I’m Don from Victoria, BC, Canada. I built this site because I wanted a single place where owners could find clear answers for their 2017 Ford Escape. We call our Escape Alice. She handles work days, quick island adventures, towing our small camper, and yes, plenty of grocery runs. I do most of the maintenance myself, so the tone here is practical, calm, and friendly.
Why this site exists
- Clarity over jargon: I translate service talk into plain English so you can make good decisions fast.
- Everything in one place: Oil, tires, wipers, recalls, brakes, lighting, electronics, winter prep, budgeting and more.
- DIY first, shop smart: If a job is driveway friendly I show the steps. If it is better for a shop, I say so and explain why however I'll almost always try it myself first until I figure it out.
What you’ll find here
- Step by step guides: Oil changes, brake jobs, plugs, filters, troubleshooting codes.
- Specs and sizes: Wheel bolt pattern, tire sizes, bulb numbers, torque basics.
- Issues and solutions: Transmission feel, electrical quirks, sensor tips, winter setups.
- Real-world tips: The little tricks that make maintenance cleaner and faster.
How I keep pages updated
I maintain notes, check common owner questions, and test ideas on Alice before I recommend them. If something changes or you spot a gap, send a quick note on the Contact page.
Thanks for visiting
Whether you wrench on your Escape or prefer the convenience of a good shop, I hope this site saves you time and money while keeping your vehicle in great shape for years to come.
