2017 Ford Escape Parking Sensors Not Working
If the rear parking sensors on a 2017 Ford Escape stop beeping, beep constantly or show a Park Aid fault, start by separating a sensor problem from a backup-camera problem. They work together as parking aids on some trims, but they are not the same hardware.

Where are the rear parking sensors?
Ford places the rear parking-aid sensors in the rear bumper on equipped Escapes. They use ultrasonic sensing to help detect larger objects while reversing at low speed.
Ford also warns that parking aid is an assistance system, not a substitute for checking behind the vehicle. Small, moving or low objects may not be detected.
Dirty, icy or blocked sensors can act like a fault
Ford specifically says the sensors should be kept clean and free of snow and ice. That makes weather and contamination an important first distinction, especially if the system worked normally before a snowstorm, car wash, muddy drive or heavy road spray.
Damage that leaves a sensor misaligned can also cause inaccurate measurements or false alerts. Ford notes that large trailer hitches, bike racks and similar add-ons can reduce performance or trigger warnings too.

Camera works but the parking sensors do not
A normal camera image with no parking-aid tones is useful information because the camera and ultrasonic sensors are separate systems. Start with the parking-aid side instead of assuming the camera has failed.

The sensors beep when nothing is there
False alerts are not automatically an electronic failure. Ford lists environmental interference, weather, sensor contamination, add-on equipment and sensor misalignment among the things that can affect operation. A persistent false alert after the bumper is clean and unobstructed deserves a more focused sensor/system diagnosis.
What a Park Aid fault changes
Ford says that when a fault is present, a warning message appears in the information display and the system may not allow parking aid to be switched on. That is different from a normal temporary false beep caused by snow or an accessory near the bumper.
