2017 Ford Escape Tire Pressure & TPMS Light Guide
Tire-pressure questions sound simple until different websites start giving different PSI numbers. The safer and more accurate answer is the label Ford put on the vehicle. It accounts for the wheel and tire configuration fitted to that Escape when it was built.

Where to find the correct tire pressure
Open the driver's door and look for the Tire and Loading Information label in the door-jamb/B-pillar area. It lists the original tire size and recommended cold inflation pressure for the vehicle.
Check pressure when the tires are cold, ideally before a drive or after the vehicle has been parked long enough for tire temperature to settle. Pressure normally rises as tires warm up while driving, so bleeding air from a warm tire to match the cold number can leave it under-inflated later.
What the 2017 Escape TPMS messages mean

Why the warning can appear after a cold night
Air pressure changes with temperature. A tire that was only slightly above the warning threshold on a warm afternoon may be low enough to trigger the system after a cold overnight temperature drop. That does not automatically mean the sensor is bad.
I prefer to check the pressure with a gauge rather than try to make the dashboard light disappear by guessing. If one tire is noticeably lower than the others, I would also look for a slow leak instead of assuming weather is the whole explanation.

TPMS light still on after adding air?
First confirm that every road tire is actually at the pressure on the vehicle label. If the warning remains, pay attention to the exact message shown in the cluster. A sensor or monitor fault points to a different issue than a simple low-pressure warning.
Recent tire replacement, seasonal wheel swaps or sensor work are useful clues to give a tire shop. Ford notes that replacement wheels and tires need to remain compatible with the tire-pressure monitoring system.
Do I need a universal "TPMS reset" trick?
I would not use a generic internet reset sequence as the first response to a 2017 Escape warning. Ford's owner information distinguishes low pressure from actual TPMS faults. Correct the tire-pressure problem first, then diagnose a persistent sensor/system warning if one remains.
This is also why I have not copied the long ignition/brake-pedal training sequences that appear on some aftermarket sites. Sensor training can be useful after certain wheel or sensor work, but that is different from fixing a genuinely low tire.
Pressure, wheel size and replacement tires
The 2017 Escape was offered with different wheel and tire combinations. When replacing tires, start with the label on the vehicle and the existing approved wheel size. Ford cautions that changing wheel or tire diameter can affect vehicle operation and speedometer accuracy.

When I would get the tire checked promptly
- One tire repeatedly loses pressure after being inflated correctly
- The tire has visible damage, a bulge or a cut
- The steering or handling suddenly feels different
- The TPMS reports a sensor or monitor fault that keeps returning
- The warning appears soon after new tires, wheels or sensors were installed
